Posted Date: 4/11/25 (2:27 PM)

The Central Heights ISD Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Justin Keeling has been named Lone Finalist for the position of Superintendent. Mr. Don Shoemaker, board president, stated, "We began the search process in January and were overwhelmed by the caliber of candidates. I commend the board members for their time commitment and diligence exercised over the last several weeks. We are excited about Mr. Keeling joining the Blue Devil family."

Mr. Keeling has 12 years of educational leadership experience supporting Nacogdoches county schools. Mr. Keeling currently serves as the Superintendent of Douglass ISD where, in his five-year tenure, he has managed over $15 million dollars in construction and renovation projects, and led the district to new academic heights, demonstrating a proven commitment to student success, both as citizens and learners. Similarly, while high school principal at Woden ISD, Mr. Keeling's innovative and collaborative leadership resulted in five consecutive years of exceptional state assessment scores. The Board is confident that Mr. Keeling's background and leadership qualities make him the ideal candidate to move the district forward.

As required by state law, the District must observe a 21-day waiting period before hire. Mr. Keeling is expected to take the helm following the conclusion of the spring semester.
